For the past year, I have served on the Advisory Council of the Friends of the Library.
Currently, I am in charge of the organization's newsletter. The organization meets monthly to raise funds to support the local library programs. Our primary fundraising is a monthly used book sale. Augusta is in the process of building a new downtown library and it has been an honor to work with the director, Gary Swint, and his staff on community projects.

Artifact: Technology Team Order

For the past ten years I have served on the technology team committee at my school. I asked them and a student committee to participate with me in my budget stimulation project in Administration as I anticipate providing leadership to my school and district. Decisions need to be made based on assessment and appropriate instructional activities. This artifact confirms my desire to have an active technology team, and reveals my desire to have student input in school leadership.

Artifact:Staff Development Unit

This unit provided an exciting opportunity for professional development as I worked with the county office of staff development on the current product that is being used to manage school web pages. I was able to met with the Assistant Principal in charge of instruction and with the Media Specialist of a local high school. I spent some time assessing the learning environment and the learners.

This practicum learning experience reveals the Educational Media and Technology staff confidence in me as a leader. Also, the unit provided a great opportunity to learn about the flexibility that is required in a teaching enviroment. I was able to advocate for the local school with the county technology department and to provide some needed dialogue about technology updates for the local school. I felt I was able to provide needed support in a manner that respected the School Library Media Specialist.
